Lettuce is one of those vegetables that adapts to any condition and season. Indeed, it can be eaten either as a main course (often in combination with other vegetables), as a side dish, and as a vegetable in sandwiches. There are different varieties of lettuce, each with their specific characteristics and different needs in terms of cultivation and transplant. The most renowned ones are lettuce, curly endive, romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, escarole and rocket. Moreover, this vegetable is not particularly fragile, as it can withstand and grow even at relatively low temperatures (under 10°C [50° F]). Lettuces adapt to different types of soil, provided they are fertile, fresh and in a sunny area. Great attention must be paid during the transplanting stage, given that the particularly wide ‘head’ of the vegetable must respect specific distances between each row and between each plant. The lettuce transplanters by Ferrari Growtech place the utmost care on this aspect: the machines effectively perform the transplant, allowing lettuce to grow and thrive in any kind of soil.

A very important detail to consider when transplanting lettuce is related to the plant density per hectare (acre) of cultivated surface. Indeed, the plants need the right space to grow quickly and thrive, without overcrowding. Generally, this means 25 cm (11”) between each plant and about 30 cm (12”) between each row of plants (the distances may vary depending on the type of lettuce cultivated). The whole process may be hard and not very effective if the equipment used is not suitable. This is why the lettuce transplanters by Ferrari Growtech were created, specifically designed to guarantee maximum precision during transplanting, one of the most delicate stages for this kind of vegetable.

The lettuce transplanters by Ferrari Growtech are built both in the automatic version and in the semi-automatic one. Namely, the first category includes the FUTURA and FUTURA TWIN models: the operator only needs to feed the panels in the loading guides of the robotised elements. This means that all the work becomes entirely automatic, fast and, above all, is carried out accurately and meticulously.

As for the semi-automatic version, this category includes the FASTBLOCK, ROTOSTRAPP, FPC, FX and FX MULTIPLA models: some of these lettuce transplanters have a high hourly output, thanks to the chance of being able to load the plants on a conveyor belt via a pallet. Once again in this case, speed is combined with extreme planting precision.
