Along with greenhouse sowing, the transplant stage is one of the most delicate moments of a plant. Indeed, the attention and care placed when planting the plants into the soil influences their healthy growth or might damage them, sometimes permanently. Indeed, the transplant typically involves transferring the plant from the nursery to an open field, which is a very different environment from the original one. The plant effectively comes in contact with a new space, new chemical agents and new bacteria. This means it might stop growing or, in the worst case scenario, even die prematurely.
To avoid the post-transplant shock, it is necessary to bear in mind some important measures. As for the age of the plant, which must not be either too young and therefore not developed enough, or too old and therefore not very inclined to change type of soil. Moreover, the outdoor climate must be suitable: every plant has specific needs in this sense. There are vegetables that like heat and others that prefer a more temperate climate. The soil that will accommodate the plant must already be prepared (if necessary by also resorting to mulching, if required by agronomic practices). Lastly, special care is related to the transplanting depth, to ensure the plant can easily find the right amount of space for its roots, and the distance between each plant. This aspect becomes more important than any other value: indeed, to grow and thrive the plant needs enough room both for the roots and for the leaves, and the ‘head’ if there is one.
In this whole process, which is equally delicate and important, it is necessary to have effective and accurate equipment, featuring automated components to avoid incurring in human errors. This is precisely why we created the plant transplanters by Ferrari Growtech: thanks to their innovative character and constant attention on the quality of the materials and technology adopted, you can ensure the transplant stage is completely safe.
The plant transplanters by Ferrari Growtech are designed to meet a number of needs, which is why they come in 2 different versions. The automatic version includes the FUTURA and FUTURA TWIN models: in this case the machine, entirely autonomously, takes out the pockets in the seed tray through the cylindrical ejectors. The plants are then picked up by pneumatic grippers that place then in the transplant robot. The machine will be programmed beforehand to follow the distances between each plant and each row, as well as the working depth.
The second type of plant transplanter by Ferrari Growtech includes semi-automatic machines, namely the following models: MULTIPLA, FMAX, FX, FASTBLOCK, ROTOSTRAPP, FPC, FPP EVO, FPA EVO and FLASH. The perfect representation of mechanised labour, this kind of machine involves using fewer operators without affecting the excellent average hourly outputs associated with top quality transplants.
